Home redecorating...

Well, the reason (biggest reason anyway) that I haven't posted pictures of my sewing projects is because we got sidetracked with home redecorating projects. My parents and youngest sister, Rachel, and Paul's parents are all visiting us here in April (my parents first, then Paul's parents). So we wanted to get paint on the walls before they arrived. We painted the kitchen quickly - that project started and ended in early February. Here's some pics of the transformation.


The flowery wall paper wasn't really our style in the kitchen. That was the main reason we wanted to paint.



Ah tinted primer...gotta love gray. Some of our friends came over and actually asked us if gray was the final color. They all looked a little relieved when we told them that it was just the primer.
Here's the final color. "Riverbank" green in the kitchen.





While we were in the paint mode, Paul taped off the rest of the living room. The top color was going to be Peanut Butter (tan) and the bottom was going to be Riverbank (same green as the kitchen).

The top half of the hallway leading to the guest bedrooms was to be a shade darker than Riverbank - Behr calls it "Crocodile". However we looked at gray primer for at least a month before we got the crocodile out and painted it.

We did manage to get the bottom of the living room painted with the Riverbank in February along with the kitchen. But we didn't get any peanut butter on the wall until Easter weekend in March.

Since we had Friday and Monday off surrounding Easter weekend, we had plenty of time to paint as well as do outdoor remodeling like re-do the front porch...a story for a different blog posting. The peanut butter dries a little less orange than it appears here when it's wet.
